Clearing out debris

Did I mention we’re working on clearing different parts of our property?!  Part of clearing land means making burn piles to get rid of the debris.  One small problem —– last summer after the clearing started, we found ourselves in a severe drought.  No rain, extreme heat, very parched land = BURN BAN!   So we had to wait to begin the final phase of getting rid of the piles.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes debris seems to hang around well after the initial destruction?   Sometimes it has to, like our burn piles had to wait until the burn ban was lifted.  But what about in our life?  After going through a study of Nehemiah and the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s wall, this point kept coming back to me.  Unlike having to wait in order to burn the piles of dead huisache and other “dead stuff” at CHR, I don’t have to wait to get rid of the debris that piles up in my life.  In fact, if I don’t deal with the rubble, then I find myself years later still stumbling over the same old stuff.  It’s time to purge!

You’ve got to clear out the debris before starting repairs. This works not in just clearing the land, more importantly in our hearts!

About beegee10

I am a follower of Jesus on the journey of discovering His real, lasting joy through God's grace and thanksgiving. Several years ago, I married my best friend, whom I met in kindergarten many years ago. Life choices took each of us on separate paths, but Divine Appointment brought our paths back together. It's exciting to share this journey with my sweet man - a man who loves God more than he loves me! What a gift!! As a young woman I prayed for God to send a godly man like my daddy to pursue me. I just wasn't listening and abiding when I should have been. Good news in HIS time and in HIS grace, HE did! Not only does my sweet man love me, but he loves my three grown kids as if they were his own. He shares their joys and he hurts when they hurt. I love to hear him pray for each of them daily as we begin and end our days. View all posts by beegee10
