“Arise, cry out in the night from the first watch of the night. Pour out your heart like water before the Lord’s presence. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children . . .” Lamentations 2:19 (HSCB)
What is it about the stillness, the quiet of the dark night that causes such unrest in the heart — especially when you’re praying, imploring, pleading for God’s mercy on your loved one? I think it’s in that moment Abba Father wants me to know HE knows my heart, HE knows my need, HE knows my hurt, and HE wants to mend my broken heart and HE desires restoration with His lost one — even more than my own desires.
HE will answer in His time and His way.
In the meantime, I trust — I persist — I pray —
I keep pouring my heart out to HIM.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever.”
Psalms 73:26 (HCSB)
