time for a restful saturday

What a delightful day!  After the whirlwind of life we seem to have been on for the last few months, today my sweet man decided it was time to get away, time to relax and enjoy US and take one of our little day trips up to our ranch.  I love when we take these little trips, leaving the buzz of the city behind.  So I grabbed my camera, my boots and my desire to REST today!  This trip had a little surprise detour for me…

Earlier in the week, sweet man had gone up to check on our feeders and such, and to give our puppy Lizzy a chance to run and play in the country.  While they were doing some running around, they discovered this was the weekend for the Round Top Fall Antique Fair... so that was my little surprise detour today!

And what a great day…. we welcomed in a nice little cool front, the wind was blowing out of the north and the Texas sky was a bright blue.    So today I’m counting the gifts of a most enjoyable fall Saturday in Texas.

Round Top Big Red Barn

a few of the sights we saw . . .   love old Coca-Cola products… but the green “things” really caught my eye!

wonder what stories these shoes could tell?

photography has come a long way!

grabbing a burger … tables decorated with antique mason jars…. reminds me of my mom!

then we stopped at La Bahia to check out the vendors there…

these old shutters caught my eye…

and I know my mom had this lamp at one time . . .

The next stop on our road trip was to check out this Texas farm house plan that keeps “calling us back”…. I can see us sitting on the porch, enjoying a good cup of coffee, watching the deer and those fabulous sunsets …

and then we were down the road to CHR…. while my sweet man was busy going around checking the feeders and the trail cams and the wildlife activity, I grabbed my camera hoping to capture a bit of Texas fall.  We may not have a true four seasons, but I am constantly amazed at the changing landscape around our property…  a few of my finds…

remember the “unusual green things”?  I found some on our road!

our native grasses …

and shades of fall . . .

and God saved the best gift for last . .

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant and time to pluck what is planted.

About beegee10

I am a follower of Jesus on the journey of discovering His real, lasting joy through God's grace and thanksgiving. Several years ago, I married my best friend, whom I met in kindergarten many years ago. Life choices took each of us on separate paths, but Divine Appointment brought our paths back together. It's exciting to share this journey with my sweet man - a man who loves God more than he loves me! What a gift!! As a young woman I prayed for God to send a godly man like my daddy to pursue me. I just wasn't listening and abiding when I should have been. Good news in HIS time and in HIS grace, HE did! Not only does my sweet man love me, but he loves my three grown kids as if they were his own. He shares their joys and he hurts when they hurt. I love to hear him pray for each of them daily as we begin and end our days. View all posts by beegee10
