“But the fruit of the Spirit is love . . . (Gal. 5: 22)
The list of the fruit of the Spirit is a good contrast to the list of the works of the flesh. A strategy I like to use with my students when learning vocabulary is to not only learn what the word “is” but also what the word “is not.” In other words, do a study of synonyms and antonyms. So naturally last Sunday when our group started to look the fruit in this same way, I was hooked! Join me as I look at the gift in my box . . .
LOVE – Greek AGAPE meaning “unconditional love that is self-sacrificing, accepting of others.”
The list of antonyms is short: hate
HE loves me, the unlovable and unlovely. Not because I deserve it —– Because HE IS LOVE.
