fruit ~ KINDNESS and GOODNESS

But the fruit of the Spirit is . . . KINDNESS, GOODNESS  . . . (Gal. 5: 22)

KINDNESS ~ benevolence and graciousness, decency and consideration
VS
callousness disinterest, cruelty, harshness

GOODNESS ~ constructive reaction of reaching out to others, gracious
VS
evil, meanness, wickedness

Kindness and Goodness are all about the heart —- a transformed heart —– not plastering on a smile or doing more “good stuff” on the outside. HE empowers me to live out that kindness and goodness to those I come in contact with in every aspect of my life.  Kelly Minter in The Fitting Room said it this way,

“Looking out for the interests of others is about the posture of my heart. Does my heart break for the people around me?  Do I long to make someone else comfortable, even if it’s at the expense of my own comfort? Am I delighted to speak a kind word or encouragement while totally frustrated with my flat tire? Is my speech generally uplifting?  Do I enjoy seeing others benefit from my sacrifices?”

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works or righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.”
Titus 3:4-5

About beegee10

I am a follower of Jesus on the journey of discovering His real, lasting joy through God's grace and thanksgiving. Several years ago, I married my best friend, whom I met in kindergarten many years ago. Life choices took each of us on separate paths, but Divine Appointment brought our paths back together. It's exciting to share this journey with my sweet man - a man who loves God more than he loves me! What a gift!! As a young woman I prayed for God to send a godly man like my daddy to pursue me. I just wasn't listening and abiding when I should have been. Good news in HIS time and in HIS grace, HE did! Not only does my sweet man love me, but he loves my three grown kids as if they were his own. He shares their joys and he hurts when they hurt. I love to hear him pray for each of them daily as we begin and end our days. View all posts by beegee10
